The tour’s ultimate goal is to immerse participants in the Hida region’s culture and history. The journey will start with wearing a kimono and strolling down Shirakabe Dozogai’s historic street. Following that, we have the Hida Furukawa Festival Exhibition Hall: which contains the discovery of The dynamic Okoshi-Daiko which has men drumming on a giant drum on the turret, and The Tranquil Yatai Parade, which features the ideal combination of Eastern and Western Japanese culture. Hida Craft Museum is another excellent means to showcase this area’s customs. It is now designated as a Japan Heritage site and is known for its inventive joinery techniques.
Not to mention the culinary pleasure offered by this journey: visit the FabCafe Hida to try the Kuromoji herbal tea cultivated nearby. It has therapeutic powers as well as an aroma that soothes and nourishes the psyche. At the end of a day full of exciting discoveries, take time to rest your weary body at an inn in Hida Furukawa. Kick off your second day with a morning bike ride across the Japanese authentic countryside as you feel the breeze on your skin: Take advantage of this unique opportunity to admire the opulent landscape! After the memorable morning bike ride, you will go down to the historical town of Takayama. In this town overflowing with traditional charm, you will visit some of the town’s highlights such as the impressive wooden Takayama Jinya, a former administrative headquarter dating from the Edo period. Immerse yourself in the purely traditional ambiance of the town for which much effort has been made to maintain the traditional feel. Stroll through the town as you discover souvenir and craft shops, museums, galleries, cafes as well as local small sake breweries.
Day 1 Morning
The first part of this expedition, which runs from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, begins with a beautiful kimono experience where the shop’s owner will assist you in selecting the color that best matches you and in putting on the yukata. A Yukata is supplied, as well as a pair of zori or geta. The guests must ensure that the kimono is returned by 6:30 pm (Closed on Thursdays).
Enjoy strolling in the traditional Shirakabe Dozogai street until 11:30 am while wearing the kimono. Make sure not to miss some of the best photo shooting spots, such as the Seto Canal to commemorate this moment! Then it will be time for lunch.
Day 1 Afternoon
The Hida Furukawa exhibition hall is the first destination on the afternoon tour (1:30 pm to 2.30 pm). The admission fees (700 yen per adult) are included in this tour (This can be 300 yen for children and visitors with disabilities who receive a 50% discount). Its opening hours are:
→ 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (March - November)
→ 9:00 am to 4:30 pm (December - February)
→ The hall is closed from December 30th to January 2nd.
Take a brief stop at the neighboring FabCafe for a relaxing teatime experience till 3:00 pm. As the main ingredient, they use Japanese spicebush for a voyage full of flavors! The drinks cost around 500 yen.

→ Closed on Wednesdays
We'll continue on to the Hida Craft Museum till 4:00 pm, which is noted for having a high percentage of individuals working in building from ancient times to the present. The entrance fees and a coaster-making experience are included in this tour.

→ Closed Thursdays and New Year's holidays (from Dec. 28th to January 2nd)
→ Open until 4:30 pm between December and February.
Your journey continues with an excursion to Watanabe sake brewery that depicts traditional local sake. Feel the local culture firsthand by tasting the sake that has been cherished in Hida's life since ancient times!
It is 5:30 pm, and we are staying at the Hida Tomoe Hotel (or similar), which is conveniently located in the heart of the Hida Furukawa. Take a deep breath and rest your weary body to get ready for the next day filled with other exciting experiences!
Day 2 Morning
Kick off your second day with a morning bike ride across the Japanese authentic countryside as you feel the breeze on your skin: Take advantage of this unique opportunity to admire the opulent landscape! A bicycle, helmet, rain suit, water refill service (visitors must have their own bottle), and a local English-speaking guide are all included in the package. The activity begins at 9:00 am. and ends at 12:30 pm.

Lunch at Hida Furukawa, before heading to the old castle town of Takayama in the afternoon.
Day 2 Afternoon
You will head to Takayama station by express train (14mins non-stop, by taking the Hida Limited Express Nagoya Line.) that will take you to the town at 2:32 pm. Visit some of the town’s highlights such as the impressive wooden Takayama Jinya, a former administrative headquarter dating from the Edo period. The entrance fees are 440JPY per person (have to be paid on the spot.)

Finally, we will conclude this excursion with a stroll around Takayama's historic district.
