Gear up, and set on a 4-day exploration of one of Japans's most scenic coastal cycling routes - Noto Peninsula, located in Ishikawa Prefecture, on Japan's main island of Honshu.
Tour itinerary
Day 1: Noto Satoyama Airport to Wajima (18 km)
Start your bike trip across Noto Peninsula at Noto Satoyama Airport. Get geared up and head north-west to Wajima. Once you reach your destination for the day, explore Wajima, or just relax and get ready for the following day.
Accommodation: 3-star hotel
Day 2: Wajima to Suzu - 68 km
Today will be a long but rewarding day, which you can start with a brief visit to the Wajima morning market, packed with fresh local farm and sea produce. Then, move further north for the big push to the top end of the Noto Peninsula. Stop along the way to see the famed terraced rice fields. Scenery at the top of Noto suddenly changes from rugged hillsides to a gentler and easier ride down into Suzu. There are several spikes in elevation gain during the day, but overall a smooth and enjoyable ride. After reaching your accommodation, you can check in, take a bath, and recharge your batteries for the following day.
Accommodation: 3-star hotel
Day 3: Suzu to Anamizu (70 km)
Heading out after breakfast, make your way out of Suzu, but not before cycling past Mitsukejima, also known as Battleship Rock, which extends 30 meters into the air. You can also check out Koiji Beach, the site of many interesting rock formations and which is also known as ‘The Beach of the Path to Love’. Elevation gains are kept to a minimum today as you make your way to Anamizu. Once there, check into your accommodation and relax.
Accommodation: 3-star hotel
Day 4: Anamizu to Noto Satoyama Airport (11 km)
After breakfast and check out, on your last day of cycling you will head north-eastwards to Noto Satoyama Airport, which is where the tour ends.
