Meet Chikako, an artist who will teach you how to make temple /shrine stamp book called "goshuincho". You can select from more than 100 kinds of kimono fabric she has collected. She will teach you how to fold, glue papers together in a proper way. It is very popular to collect goshuin stamps in goshuin stamp books in Japan. Each temple and shrine has its own stamp and it will be great memory of the visit. After making the notebook, let’s visit the shrine or temple and learn how to get goshuin stamp. You can also learn the proper way to visit temple or shrine. When you are travelling, time is precious. If you have request about different class location, please don’t hesitate to ask. There’s Ginza, Shibuya, Shinbashi, Asakusa, Shinjuku and more.

Your host, an award-winning artist with a special love of fabrics, Chikako Oshiro, introduces you to the world of "goshuincho", a Buddhist temple or Shinto shrine booklet, whose covers are adorned in fabric and pages to be filled with stamps upon visits to temples and shrines. Chikako teaches you how to create your own temple notebook, using a fabric to your liking from her wide selection. Visiting temples and shrines, where each has their own unique stamp, and adding them to the notebook you design yourself makes for a wonderful souvenir and memorabilia from your Japan trip.
