Details
Izumo Taisha Shrine, situated in Shimane Prefecture, is believed to be the oldest Shinto Shrine in Japan. It is nested among numerous paths, and pine tree groves. On its large premises there are also numerous eateries and shops. Given its outstanding historical, and cultural significance, the Main Hall and the attached buildings were registered as National Treasures in 1952.
Apart from the Shrine, Shimane boasts scenic natural landscapes such as Lake Shinji. Enjoy the views of the Lake on your way to another destination – Matsue Vogel Park. The Park offers a range of experiences and is a home to numerous bird and plant species. Wrap up your day in the city of Matsue where Matsue Castle is situated and learn more about the history of the area.
