Join us for a small group day trip to Minakami in Gunma prefecture where we will trek the snowy mountains wearing snowshoes! Then, move on to the beautiful Takaragawa Onsen for a soak in the hot springs beside the river, before heading back to Tokyo!


Prepare yourself for a day of snow fun as we make our way towards the Minakami region of Gunma prefecture, an outdoor adventure wonderland. A small group tour will be led by a certified English-speaking mountain guide who will assist us in navigating the snowy terrain with snowshoes. After that, we will head to Takaragawa Onsen, a beautiful old onsen place made up of a number of large outdoor onsen and located next to a river, before heading back to Tokyo!

Tour Itinerary:

  • 7:15 am - Meet at Shinjuku Center Building, along the north-east side of the building
  • 7:30 am - Depart Shinjuku
  • 10:00 am - Arrive in Minakami
  • 10:30 am - Start snowshoeing
  • 2:30 pm - Finish snowshoeing
  • 2:45 pm - Board bus for Takaragawa onsen
  • 3:15 pm - Arrive at Takaragawa onsen
  • 4:30 pm - Board bus and depart for Shinjuku
  • 7:45 pm - Arrive in Shinjuku

  • Temperatures during the winter may vary from -10 to 10 degree Celsius.
  • Minimum number of people for this trip: 15
  • Maximum number of people for this trip: 23
  • Minimum age for participants is 9 years old
  • This trip is suitable for beginners and first-time snowshoers, with reasonable fitness level required
  • The trip will still run if it is snowing, though severe snowstorms or snow instability may cause the trip to be canceled.
  • No alcohol is permitted prior to the tour. Furthermore, customers who are unable to participate due to prior consumption of alcohol will be liable for cancellation charges.
  • Pregnant ladies cannot participate on this tour
